Who We Are
The 1717 Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to mentorship and leadership development for boys and young men. Inspired by the words of Frederick Douglass, we believe that true manhood is cultivated through consistent mentorship, brotherhood, and the ability to overcome challenges.
We guide youth towards a strong sense of identity, academic growth, and community leadership through sports, life skills, and college readiness programs.
Mentorship. Brotherhood. Real transformation.

Success Stories

"I love it, man. You always put the kids first, and everything is under God's control at the end of the day. The love and support you all show to our families is incredible, even if some are stuck in difficult situations; help is just a phone call or text away from the coaches. I really appreciate you all, man."
Keanu

“Mentorship is more than guidance—it’s a brotherhood. Here, every story is a step forward, every challenge a chance to grow. We believe in building character, fostering resilience, and creating a community where young men support each other on and off the field. Together, we rise, learn, and lead with purpose.”
Kevin H.
Mentor and Community Leader

"This program is genuinely focused on the kids. It promotes strong values such as a solid work ethic, camaraderie, and self-belief. The coaches recognize that while it’s football, the lessons extend beyond the game itself. By succeeding on the field with these values, the boys learn how to succeed in life. This is a classy program that treats opponents with respect and advocates for the children."
